Welcome to 3 Shapes Aikido

Mission Statement:
Building a World Class Dojo Through Personal Growth in the Art of Aikido, Family Participation, and Community Involvement.

"Aikido is nonviolence. Every human being has been entrusted with a mandate from heaven, and the victory we seek is to overcome all challenges and fight to the finish, accomplishing our goals. In Aikido we never attack. If you want to strike first, to gain advantage over someone, that is proof your training is insufficient, and it is really you yourself who has been defeated. Let your partner attack, and use his aggression against him. Do not cower from an attack; control it before it begins. Nonviolence is the true practice of Aikido."
Morihei Ueshiba, Founder of Aikido

Directional Theme:
We respectfully acknowledge our common love of Aikido and our differences of experience, and we train with each other with open hearts and minds. We recognize that cooperation is the very spirit of Aikido, and we of this Dojo agree to take equal responsibility for its upkeep and well being. We of this Dojo agree to communicate openly and honestly with each other, and in the spirit of Aikido, agree to work out any differences or problems that may arise. Those of us who teach here remember that "Sensei" simply means, "one who was born before..." It is not a position of authority, but an obligation of responsibility to work with and guide everyone who trains with us to be the best of our knowledge and ability.

Thank You
-AlejAndro Anastasio, Sensei
